In 2016, there were over 1.8 million hectares of certified organic agricultural land in Africa, farmed by more than 741,000 producers- tendency growing. Several success stories have led to a growing recognition of organic agriculture for sustainable development, and the sector benefits from a growing market for organic products worldwide. Still, organic production in Africa remains largely unprofessional and unproductive.
Tradin, together with its partners, is looking into setting up an investment/finance vehicle, accompanied by a technical assistance entity, to facilitate the development of organic agriculture and primary agricultural and/or processing businesses in Africa. The fund is set up to achieve:
1. Substantial development effects
2. Professionalization of organic agriculture in Africa
3. Reliable supply of quality organic raw materials for European organic companies
In order to increase the impact of the fund, Tradin would like to invite interested development investors to participate.
