There is an untapped potential for solving challenges of long-term unemployment by activating private capital. This is the main goal of the new EU funded Interreg project Social Impact Vouchers – in short, SIV that started in March 2019 and will run until February 2022 (for more information, please visit the project website: www.interreg-central.eu/Content.Node/SIV-.html).
Within the scope of the SIV project, eleven partners from eight Central European countries will introduce a voucher-based novel and innovative instrument aimed to increase the capacities of social enterprises and public stakeholders to leverage private capital for solving social challenges of long-term unemployment.
During the next 2 years, the project consortium aims to raise EUR 2.2 million for an informal transnational social impact fund and several national funds to finance the voucher system. Therefore, we are now looking for experts in social impact investment to help us find solutions to key questions.
